Submission Guidelines

We publish all different types of poetry, including translations, and are proud of our commitment to regional as well as international poets, as well as new and established poets. At SRPR, both innovative and mainstream poems are welcome, though all poetry we publish must be as intellectually and emotionally ambitious as it is formally attentive.

Our submission guidelines are as follows:

  1. We accept submissions from September 15 to February 15.

  2. Simultaneous submissions are okay. If you have submitted your work through our online submission manager, then you can withdraw your work by logging into your account or notifying us as soon as possible at the following email address: contact@srpr.org. In the subject line, use the title "Withdrawal of Submission."

  3. Please submit 3-5 poems, with your full contact info at the top of each poem.

  4. We do not accept submissions sent by email.

  5. You are encouraged to use our online Submission Manager. At this link more details are available about uploading your work.

  6. We respond to each submission within one year.

  7. SRPR publishes new, previously unpublished poetry only and seeks first serial rights in North America (FNASR) for poems selected for publication, which revert to the author upon publication of the issue in which the work appears.

  8. If SRPR accepts your work, you will receive a contributor copy of the issue in which your work appears, as well as a complimentary 1-year subscription to SRPR.

Please note that after successful submission you should receive a confirmation email from us. If not, then please check your SPAM folder. Also, please add the following email addresses to your contacts list in your email: contact[at]srpr[dot]org & auto-reply[at]srpr[dot]org. If for some reason the email from our server is not getting delivered to your account, then you can always check the status of your submission by logging in to your account with us.
